Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate the department’s daily functions to maintain efficient retail operations and ensure operational targets are met. Review customer needs, market conditions, and competitor activities to forecast product demand and identify opportunities for improved sales performance. Supervise staff by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, supporting training initiatives, and contributing to employee development and retention. Select the range of goods and services offered in the department and participate in establishing pricing strategies and credit-related policies. Handle vendor communication, negotiate supply terms when required, and arrange procurement of merchandise for resale. Develop promotional activities and marketing initiatives to increase customer engagement and support business growth. Assist with departmental budgeting, approve key expenditures, and track revenue results to ensure financial goals are achieved. Maintain high standards of customer service by addressing concerns, resolving complaints, and implementing service improvements. Support staffing requirements by participating in the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of team members. Job Requirements Languages: English Education: College diploma (1–2 years) in business, retail management, or related field, OR equivalent experience Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years in retail management or supervisory role Work Setting: Retail hardware and building materials environment Computer Skills: Knowledge of building material is must Word processing software Project management tools Spreadsheets MS Outlook Work Conditions Fast-paced retail environment Extended periods of standing and walking Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) On-site work only (no remote option)
