Job details • Location: 3108 Edgemont Blvd North Vancouver, BC V7R 2N6 • Work location: On site • Salary: 23.00 hourly / 30 to 40 hours per week • Terms of employment: Permanent employment Full time • Day, Weekend • Starts as soon as possible • Vacancies:1 vacancy Overview Languages English Education • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Experience 1 year to less than 2 years On site Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely. Work setting • Butcher shop • Relocation costs covered by employer • Willing to relocate Responsibilities Tasks • Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting • Cut carcasses, sides and quarters • Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers • Cut, trim and prepare standard cuts of meat • Wrap and package prepared meats • Remove bones from meat • Weigh meats for sale • Cut poultry into parts • Price meat products • Clean and prepare fish and shellfish • Sell meats to customers • Cut fish into steaks and fillets • Supervise other butchers, meat cutters and fishmongers • Grind meats • Train meat cutters • Make special sausages • Prepare special displays of meats, poultry and fish products • Shape, lace and tie roasts, other meats, poultry and seafood • Prepare special orders Experience and specialization Equipment and machinery experience • Manual cutting utensil • Power grinder • Sausage machine • Slicing machine Additional information Security and safety • Criminal record check • Bondable Work conditions and physical capabilities • Work under pressure • Tight deadlines • Fast-paced environment • Combination of sitting, standing, walking • Standing for extended periods • Attention to detail • Physically demanding • Handling heavy loads • Hand-eye co-ordination Personal suitability • Accurate • Client focus • Dependability • Efficient interpersonal skills • Excellent oral communication • Flexibility • Initiative • Judgement • Organized • Reliability • Team player You can apply if you are: • a Canadian citizen • a permanent resident of Canada • a temporary resident of Canada with a valid work permit Do not apply if you are not authorized to work in Canada.
